parents of i-kidz

SECURITY AND PEACE OF MIND FOR THE PARENT
We are at all times aware of the safety of our children and we strive to maintain a safe and relaxed environment by using the following measures:
a) The entrance gate can only be released from the office. Entrance recorded on surveillance.
b) Children may only regularly be fetched by their parents or nominated and identified persons who have been introduced to
the principal and staff.
c) Should an emergency come up and the child cannot be fetched by a known person, the parents, have to phone and identify
the new appointed person by giving a description of the person and to ask the person to present an ID document. The parent must also provide the person with a secret password, which has to be verified at the office.
d) Regular updating of First Aid competency.
e) We are a member of the AECYC (Association for the Education and Care of Young Children.
WHAT OUR SCHOOL OFFERS
3.1 We host children 2yr – 6yrs.
3.2 Qualified teachers and well-trained, competent class assistants.
3.3 Grade R class with a qualified teacher.
3.4 We follow the prescribed curriculum plus CAPS for Gr-R.
3.5 Teachers are regularly attending in service training courses.

SCHOOL HOURS
7.1 Monday to Friday: 06:30 until 18:00 (Full day)
06:30 until 14:00 (Half day)
7.2 R100 penalty (per each 15 min), immediately payable, if children are left until after 18:00.
7.3 School will be closed during public holidays. Parents will be informed in good time.
We shall annually be closed as from approx. the second Friday of December until approx. the first or second Wednesday after New Year.
MEALS
8.1 School provides breakfast (08:00), lunch (12:00) and afternoon snack (15:00). Mom provides healthy snack (no sweets)
and small juice for 09:30.
8.2 Menus are weekly displayed on the notice board in the passage.
COMMUNICATION AND MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
9.1 Regular circulars to keep parents informed about school matters. Each child must have an A5, 196 pages Hardcover
Communication Book which will daily be used by the teachers and parents.
9.2 Medium of instruction mainly English, but where there are Afrikaans children in the Class, the instruction becomes
dual medium.
